Calling all beta-testers!
We want to know what you think of SolidWall™, the next-generation firewall/IPv6 tunnel broker appliance from InfoWeapons. SolidWall™ will soon be made available to a select few for beta-testing.
Overview
As networks move to the Next Generation Internet protocol (IPv6), various forms of security breaches are becoming more sophisticated, making network security a top priority. Protecting proprietary data and information without compromising usability and the freedom to communicate is a vital factor in any organization's continued viability and growth.
SolidWall™ is a combination dual-stack Firewall with QoS, VPN endpoint, and IPv6 tunnel broker appliance. It enhances security while enabling organizations to quickly bring their networks onto IPv6.
SolidWall™ is designed to fulfill the security requirements of diverse enterprise networks. The product combines the functions of a perimeter firewall and an internal network firewall, and a VPN gateway that authenticates and protects wireless users. It provides a high level of security to networks behind it while normalizing and conditioning network traffic. Aside from filtering and controlling the traffic that goes through its users' networks, SolidWall™ offers support for bandwidth management and control as well as redundant real time service.
SolidWall™ does not only protect its users' networks from external attacks, it also provides full support for IPv6 addressing, IPv6 tunneling, packet filtering and prioritization, and failover capability.
Add-on modules further extend the capabilities of the SolidWall™ appliance, providing web content filtering and the unique advantage of dynamic bandwidth allocation (which may be done either per IP or per port), allowing traffic of a certain type for a specified user to be prioritized on the fly, without sacrificing the quality of the service.
Despite its many features, SolidWall™ is very easy to deploy and manage. A simplified installation and configuration process makes it especially suitable for organizations that lack IT security staff. Security administrators can configure and manage the appliance to suit their specific network needs using an intuitive, web-based graphical interface or a secure, restricted command shell.
The SolidWall™ appliance uses a hardened FreeBSD operating system that fully supports IPv4, IPv6 and dual-stack operation.
SolidWall™ Lite, the "Lite" version of the appliance can function as an IPv6 tunnel broker server or client end-point. It is offered also as part of the IPv6 Quickstart Kit. SolidWall™ Lite's basic features include dual-stack firewall support, stateful packet inspection, diagnostics and monitoring all of which are configurable using setup wizards.
