Product Overview
The InfoWeapons DHCPv6 Client enables administrators to easily configure DHCPv6 parameters in client machines using a graphical user interface. The DHCPv6 Client does not configure DHCPv6 service running on a DHCPv6 server. It is used by client machines that interact with, and obtain configuration information from, a DHCPv6 server.
DHCPv6 stands for Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol for IPv6. This protocol is used to automatically configure IPv6-capable host computers and other devices in a local network. This protocol defines clients (hosts which should be configured), servers (devices which provide configuration to clients), and relays (devices which are connected to more than one network and are able to forward traffic between local clients and remote servers).
This software package consists of two programs released under two different licenses. The first program, dhcpv6client.exe, is proprietary software, copyrighted and wholly owned by InfoWeapons, Inc., which reserves all rights to said software. This program, however, has been released and distributed as freeware, available as a free download from InfoWeapons, Inc. It is not in the public domain. A second program, dibbler-client.exe, is released under the GNU General Public License.
