PLDT inks contract with InfoWeapons

InfoWeapons Inc. (IWI) announced the signing of a multi-million dollar contract to provide the PLDT Group a highly-customized firewall and IP traffic controller device known as SolidGate.

SolidGate is a multi-functional, application gateway and network border controller that allows the convergence of various online services such as Voice/VoIP, video on demand, and wireless access. By managing the routing, bandwidth, security, and authentication requirements of online service offerings, SolidGate significantly reduces network cost and complexity by integrating all these functions into a single, easy-to-deploy device.

The purchase of these devices is in line with PLDT's convergence initiative which aims to deliver varied services to its customers using a simple network connection.
