What is PSTN?
PSTN, which stands for Public Switched Telephone Network, is the global network of public-switched telephone systems. It uses the single numbering plan based on the E.163 standards to allow different networks in different countries to interconnect seamlessly.
Originally a network of fixed-line analog telephone systems, today the PSTN is almost entirely digital in its core and includes mobile as well as fixed telephones, according to Wikipedia.
