Disaster Recovery
SolidDNS™ appliances can be configured to provide uninterrupted DNS service by automatically replicating DNS data to a Disaster Recovery (DR) site’s servers and allowing queries to be resolved from the DR servers.
Using Views, a SolidDNS™ appliance configured as a DR server can replicate the DNS data of multiple sites in a segregated manner and allow authorized clients from these sites to access DNS data in case their primary and secondary DNS servers become unavailable.
The diagram shows SolidDNS™ appliances configured as primary and secondary DNS servers at two production sites (Acme Inc. and Sample Corp.), and more SolidDNS™ appliances serving as primary and secondary DR servers in a Disaster recovery site. The DNS data in either production site is replicated in corresponding Views in the DR servers, and can be accessed by the clients in the production sites.
