Internet Systems Consortium (ISC) has released the first version of BIND 10, but don't rush into getting one just yet. According to the public benefit company, BIND 10 is a couple of years away from being ready for production environments and that the release of this version is meant for testing and experimenting only.

The release of version 1 coincides with the first year anniversary of the BIND 10 project. Year 2 will feature a recursive, validating DNS resolver and an improved authoritative server optimized for performance. You can read more about this project and how you can download the source code here.
