Asia Pacific Starts Scrimping on IPv4 Addresses
The rationing of IPv4 addresses has began. According to a report by The National Business Review, there are no more IPv4 addresses for general allocation in the Asia Pacific region.
The story quoted New Zealand IPv6 Task Force Convenor Murray Milner, who told the Aucland broadsheet that complete exhaustion in the region is only a matter of time. Although many ISPs are already IPv6 compliant, some are still dragging its feet.
Mr. Milner told the paper his task force is getting "very close" to naming these ISPs and that it would come out with a clear statement of where they are in terms of IPv6 adoption during the World IPv6 Day set on June 8. To read full story, click here.
