Dulles, VA - November 17, 2009 - InfoWeapons, Inc. announced today the general availability release of SolidDNS™ 4.0, which features advanced DNSSEC options.

The release comes a month before Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and Verisign were to begin signing root servers in preparation for the staggered rollout of DNSSEC starting January 2010.

SolidDNS™ 4.0 introduces a suite of key management options critical to the administration of name servers when DNSSEC is fully deployed across the public Internet. It also supports NSEC3, which is mandated by key regulatory agencies, including the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB).

Leading the latest DNSSEC features is the capability to execute emergency rollovers when any of the keys used to sign DNS records is compromised. Unlike in ordinary BIND name servers, this procedure can be performed in SolidDNS™ 4.0 with just one mouse click.

Another key addition to this version is a new module that can transform the appliance into a "cluster manager" capable of monitoring other servers and devices on a network. It can also sync domains and ACLs across "managed" secondary name servers, a capability administrators will find absolutely helpful.

ICANN and Verisign have recently announced the internal signing of root servers beginning December this year, targeting full DNSSEC deployment across all 13 root servers by July 2010. This coincides with the OMB mandate for all U.S. federal agencies to have appropriate DNSSEC capabilities deployed and operational by December 2009.
