With the necessary deployment of IPv6, manufacturers and vendors are required to do extensive interoperability testing on network devices to be able to run the new protocol and provide compatibility for the old one, Martin Rowe of the Test and Measurement World reports.

IPv6 is here and like most governments all over the world, Australia has kicked off its transition from IPv4 to IPv6 with the release of an action plan dubbed, "A Strategy for the Implementation of IPv6 in Australian Government Agencies."
